Rowena has joined the Transactional Practice Team of IC Universal Legal at Mumbai as a Partner in April, 2020.
Prior to joining IC Universal Legal, Rowena was an Associate Partner at ARA LAW, Mumbai.
Rowena’s practice areas include Venture Capital, Private Equity, Mergers & Acquisitions and General Corporate Advisory.
Rowena has advised major investors, financial institutions, offshore and domestic venture capital and private equity houses and funds on the entire cycle of making investments in diverse industries till their exit including due diligences, structuring, regulatory advice, documentation and post-transaction support.
She has also advised on structuring a range of domestic and cross border acquisitions and foreign investments in India including joint venture formation and termination, business restructuring, slump sale transactions and acquisition of entities; provided guidance on regulatory approvals, exchange control, disclosures and corporate governance issues, etc.
Her General Corporate Advisory experience includes advice on various regulatory matters related to corporate & commercial laws, TMT, FDI compliant requirements, validation of regulator impact on business models, contract drafting for commercial transactions such as business partner, business collaboration, technology transfer and licensing transactions, data protection and privacy issues.
Rowena’s transactional experience spans a wide range of sectors, such as e-commerce, technology enabled services, education, pharma, healthcare, telecommunication, financial services.
